Episode 9 – Family Ties

Jay thought he’d seen pain, but nothing hurt like watching his mother cough up blood. The doctor said she needed treatment fast — treatment that cost more than Jay could scrape together, even with Boss T’s money.

When he brought her home, she clutched his hand weakly. “Jay, I know what you’re doing. Stop before it swallows you.”

Jay froze. She knew.

But before he could promise anything, news hit the block: rivals had threatened his mother’s life. A warning to Jay.

He rushed home, heart racing, only to find the door wide open. His mother sat on the bed, shaken but alive. On the wall, painted in red spray: “Next time, she dies.”

Jay broke down, punching the wall until his fists bled.

Kunle appeared, unusually quiet. “Guy, this life go finish us. Forget Boss T, abeg. Think of your mama.”

Jay’s rage burned hotter. Forgetting wasn’t an option. The streets had dragged his mother into it.

Jay swore under his breath: “I go bury them all.”
